Aircraft designer: JIM ATKINS

AIR MODEL by BILL ANDERSON (ffds)

This F100 air model has been designed for FS200 and PRO edition

512*512pixels textures, full moving parts, transparent cockpit, day and night lights.

AIR FILE: I improve more realistic fly with additional parameters for Joys-ticks with wing
force and pedals.
Readjustments combined with .air to wich I have added the sections under [Jet Engine] ,
thanks to Patrick Saint-Dizier for some help parameters.

TAXI, TAKEOFF AND CLIMB
-----------------------
Expect about 50 USG fuel burn for 10 minutes taxi and standby (Idle N1 is 23%, N2 54% and fuel burn 3.5 USG/min)
Flaps positions 0, 8 and 15 are certified for t/o ; normal t/o will be performed with Flaps 8 (1st position) ; flaps 15 should be used for t/o at high elevations and temperatures.
Take-off trim has to be a little bit up (how much will depend on the sensitivity setting of your system)
Apply T/O power (N1 should be 89%, N2 90% and EGT 763C).
Take off roll (at sea level and ISA conditions) will be about 4,500 ft (35 seconds)
V1 equals Vr and is 140 kts at MTOW in standard conditions
Initial pitch attitude is about 13-15 ; after rotation a maximum positive pitch of 18 is allowed if speed requirements are met (V2+10)
After take off, retract gear, retract flaps at 1000 ft AGL (IAS should be at least 160 kts), decrease pitch attitude to about 10 and let accelerate the aircraft to 250 kts, then adjust ROC (about 3,500 ft initially) to maintain 250 Kts IAS until 10,000 ft (maintaining 90% N1 or decreasing it slightly to reduce the initial ROC)
At 10,000 ft increase N1 to 95%, decrease BA to +6 and let increase IAS to 290 kts ; keep 95% N1 during climb. Normal climb speed is 280-290 kts above 10,000 fts until Mach 0.70. Best rate of climb speed is 250 kts. Climb performance will be degraded above 20,000 fts and you will have to decrease BA from 10 to 6-4 and ROC from 2500 ft/min to 1000-1500 ft/min especially at MTOW and/or high temperature.

CRUISE
------
Cruise speed depend on economic strategy of the company. Real F100 flight computer calculates the right speeds based upon the strategy mode taking into account winds, fuel cost, altitude and weight.
Standard cruise speed of the model is Mach 0.72 at all weights from FL280 through FL340
Fuel economic cruise speed is Mach 0.70 and high cruise speed is Mach 0.74 at FL 320-350
Following are the measured normal cruise values of the model at near MTOW in standard conditions

FL Mach TAS(Kts) Fuel(USG/h)
-- ---- -------- -----------
[Standard] N1=75-76%
280 0.72 428 745
300 0.72 424 690
320 0.72 421 625

[High speed] N1=76-77%
280 0.74 440 760
300 0.74 436 710
320 0.74 432 675

DESCENT
-------
Descent speed schedule is 280 Kts IAS or Mach 0.70 until 10,000 Fts where IAS has to be reduced to 250 Kts.
Descent rate should not exceed 1000 fpm above FL300 and can then be increased to 2000 fpm
Descent thrust will be adjusted to maintain the following settings
- Mach 0.70 until 280 Kts IAS (ROD: 1000 fpm above FL300 / 2000 fpm below)
- 280 Kts to 10,000 Fts QNH
- 250 Kts below 10,000 Fts QNH

APPROACH PARAMETERS AND FINAL
-----------------------------
For normal approach weights, your normal speed schedule would be as follows:
In the Terminal area, below 10,000 feet: ATC speed limit = 250 kts
Intermediate approach (20-25 NM from touchdown) = 210 kts
At 15 miles back, slow the aircraft to 180 kts
At 10-12 miles back (glide slope alive) select flaps 8 and decrease speed to 160 kts IAS
Intercepting glideslope, select gear down ; descent rate should be 800 fpm without wind.
At about 2000 fts AGL, select 25 flaps and reduce speed to 140 kts ; set full flaps (42) at 1500 fts AGL and reduce speed to Vref+5 (125 kts) till threshold for a normal landing
Vref at MLW is 120 kts
Note that MLW will be achieved with about 1870 USG fuel remaining in the tanks (55% of the total capacity)

Approach time and fuel consumption (20 NM from touchdown)
Time: about 7-8 minutes
Fuel burn: about 70 USG

IFR DIVERSION
-------------
Fuel consumption for 45 minutes at FL150 and 250 kts IAS: about 400 USG

MAX RANGE (NM) including taxi, t/o, climb and descent (with 45 min IFR reserve i.e 400 USG)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FL280: 1600 NM
FL300: 1700 NM
FL320: 1800 NM
